Job Summary
Safire Rehabilitation of Southtowns is a premier long‑term skilled nursing facility located in Erie County, New York. We are currently hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for the 3 PM‑11 PM and 11 PM‑7 AM shifts.
Pay:
Per diem salary of $28.00 per hour.

- Deliver nursing care in structured and routine situations.
- Administer and record medications and treatments as assigned.
- Prepare for and assist nurses and others with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Reinforce, support, and provide health care instructions to patients and their families.
- Participate with other team members in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care and other patient activities.
- Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Observe and report patients' vital signs, symptoms and general condition to the appropriate individuals.
- Record observations of patients' responses to nursing care rendered on patient charts.
- Maintain environmental conditions conducive to the comfort and safety of patients.
- Assist with unit management and/or assume charge of unit as assigned.
- Perform other nursing functions related to patient care and nursing service as delegated by the Nursing Service Administration.
- Guide and direct other technicians and nurse aides in rendering patient care.
- Maintain clinical competence through participation and attendance at continuing education programs and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Administration of treatments and routine tasks such as suctioning and urinary catheterizations.
- Preparation of patient for procedures, diagnostic tests, treatments, and examinations.
- Administration of medications within scope of practice.
- Identification and setup of intravenous equipment and delivery of solutions for infusion through peripheral access devices.
- Administer blood or blood products with special training.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families/significant others.
- Assist with the rehabilitation of patients according to the nursing care plan.
- Provide for the physical comfort and safety of the patient.
- Contribute to patient care conferences.
- Assist in emergency resuscitative procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Completion of an educational program and NYS licensure as a LPN.
- Prior experience in a long‑term skilled nursing facility is a plus.
- All offers of employment are conditioned on completing and passing a background and drug test.
- Participation in mandatory vaccine programs (e.g., COVID‑19, TB) and use of designated PPE when required.
