Job Description

Practice of registered professional nursing by a nurse practitioner may include the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and the performance of therapeutic and corrective measures within a specialty of practice, in collaboration with a licensed physician qualified to collaborate in the specialty involved, provided such services are performed in accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols.

Completion of masters, post-masters’ or doctorate NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN required. Current active RN and NP license in NYS required. National NP certification required. Internal hire:
Required upon transfer into new position. External hire:
Required at the time of application. Current BLS, NRP required. DEA or DEA eligible required. Agreement from appropriate physician to enter into a collaborative agreement required.

At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience required. Two (2) years of clinical experience in specialty area of practice (i.e. NICU, nursery) as RN or NP preferred.
