Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN - Med Surg; M​/S

Job Overview

Workfit Staffing is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to be responsible for providing direct patient care, usually under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with established plans. The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the care delivery team. The Licensed Practical Nurse communicates the needs of the patient and the team; collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, takes direction from the RN and delegates appropriately to the other members of the team.

39-bed acute medical telemetry unit caring for a wide range of patients, including those with medical-surgical needs, orthopedic overflow, and ED holds. The unit supports both medically complex patients and those preparing for safe discharge. This unit is a great fit for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity settings that require strong clinical judgment and collaboration.

• Patient Care & Service
  - Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervise assigned team members
• Medication Administration & Reporting
  - Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal from/to appropriate staff as per departmental protocols
• Documentation
  - Ensure concise, pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process
• Preparation
  - Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent required
• Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills highly desired
• At least 6 months LPN experience preferred
• BLS
  - Basic Life Support
  - American Heart Association (AHA)

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Med Surge

Pay Rate: $30.00 to $32.00 an hour.

Shift: Day (3x12 Hours) 7:00 – 19:00 or Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00) and Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:00)
