Job Summary

This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Clinic position supports providers in the delivery of timely, quality patient health care services in an outpatient clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care support as delegated by Provider or RN.
- Administer therapies including medications and schedule follow‑up visits and prior authorization.
- Provide patient care pre‑/post encounter or procedure, preventative or other health information.
- Collaborate with Provider and team on improving and managing quality goals.
- Start, monitor, and discontinue IVs (dependent on site needs and training).
- Room patients, manage patient flow and obtain adequate medical information/data.
- Perform rooming, accurately measure vital signs and other indicators, and record in the medical record.
- Coordinate communication of medical information, confirm with patient, and document per practice policy and standards.
- Assist patients to prepare for physician exam, providing psycho‑emotional support.
- Assist in the collection, labeling, and processing of specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist physician with procedures, including preparation of medication as required.
- Organize patient flow so physician can move efficiently from one room to the next.
- Provide outbound calls to patients to follow‑up as directed, including notifying patients of test results.
- Accurately chart all information in the patient medical record.
- Checkout and schedule follow‑up visits with provider or appropriate staff before the patient leaves.
- Receive or initiate patient phone calls and answer phones cordially and professionally in a timely manner.
- Confirm or reiterate patient symptoms using the patient’s own words.
- Arrange appropriate appointments or forward to RN or provider for review/recommendation.
- Document all encounters and patient interactions accurately and completely in the electronic medical record.
- Process physician orders.
- Perform any clinical functions within scope of license as ordered by physician.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and requests.
- Review patient charts before the visit to ensure that test results, therapy reports, etc. are available.
- Provide appropriate instructions to patient as directed by physician.
- Clean, prepare, organize, and re‑stock exam rooms.
- Ensure proper maintenance of exam rooms and sterilize instruments as trained.
- Restock teaching supplies and other supplies according to standards and patient needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Vocational degree from a Board of Nursing approved LPN program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years clinic LPN experience.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – MN BON or Wisconsin (if applicable).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in‑house BLS training (within 30 days of hire). BLS is required for RN support resources.
Light work: lifting weights up to 20 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently.
Pay Range$24.62 to $33.74 per hour based on experience, education, and union agreement. Shift and differential pay may be available.
