The Assistant Manager Nursing Unit is a managerial position for a licensed Registered Professional Nurse who participates in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating clinical and administrative functions on assigned units. • Participate in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating clinical and administrative functions on assigned unit(s).
• Assure the provision of quality patient care.
• Manage staff and equipment/materials appropriately.
• Foster cooperative relationships with physicians.
• Establish and maintain good internal and external customer relationships.
• Assist the Nurse Manager with clinical operations, hiring, and terminating staff.
• Discipline and counsel staff as needed.
• Approve payroll and time records.
• Share responsibility for quality improvement outcomes and activities of the unit(s).
• Participate in the budget process and manage day-to-day operations.

• Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required.
• Registered Nurse Upon Hire required.
• Experience:
• 2 years of experience in a clinical setting required.
• 1 year of experience in clinical leadership preferred.
• 1 year of experience in specific clinical service line of assigned department preferred.
