Obstetrics Nurse

About This Role

The Obstetrics Nurse is responsible for assessing and treating human responses to health problems, executing medical regimens, and adhering to Kaleida Health policies and standards. This role is ideal for nurses with a passion for maternal and child health.

• Location: Buffalo, NY
• Facility: Golisano Children's Hospital
• Schedule: Per-Diem, Variable hours

• Assess and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems.
• Provide case finding, health teaching, and health counseling.
• Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed healthcare providers.
• Adhere to current Kaleida policies and standards of practice.

• Education:
  • Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse/RN Permit required upon hire.
• Experience:
  • Internal applicants must have a minimum of nine (9) continuous months of comparable work experience within two (2) years.
  • External applicants must have a minimum of one (1) continuous year of comparable work experience within two (2) years.

  Certifications:
  
  
  • American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire.
  • RN Obstetrics L&D American Heart Association ACLS.
  • American Academy of Pediatrics NRP & AWHONN intermediate fetal monitoring certification required within one (1) year of hire/transfer.
  • NCC certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring within one (1) year of hire/transfer.
