Manager Nursing Unit

About This Role

The Manager Nursing Unit provides leadership to the nursing care team, ensuring patient needs are met while under medical care. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who are skilled in operations and quality improvement.

• Location: Buffalo, NY
• Facility: Buffalo General Medical Center
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift

• Provide leadership to the nursing care team 24/7.
• Assess needs, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' nursing care.
• Manage operations for one or more departments.
• Hire and terminate staff, and discipline and counsel team members.
• Approve payroll and time records.
• Oversee quality improvement outcomes and activities of the unit(s).

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
• Current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
• National Certification in related clinical area or leadership upon hire preferred.

• 3 years of experience in clinical setting required.
• 1 year of experience in clinical leadership required.
• 1 year of experience in specific clinical service line of assigned department preferred.
