Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse

The CCL RN utilizes evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate care before, during, and after invasive cardiac procedures. Duties may include pre-procedure assessment, procedural support, post-procedure recovery, patient and family education, emergency response, quality improvement activities, and the operation and maintenance of cardiology-specific equipment. Major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering direct patient care in a cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory setting.
  • Performing comprehensive patient assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care.
  • Providing pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures.
  • Monitoring patients for changes in condition and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.
  • Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Providing patient and family education regarding procedures, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Participating in emergency response situations and implementing established protocols.
  • Maintaining proficiency in the operation, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of specialized cardiology equipment.
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice activities, and quality assurance programs.
  • Serving as a resource, mentor, or preceptor, as appropriate to the assigned grade level.
  • Participating in on-call rotations, as required by the needs of the service.
  • Completing all required education and competency requirements.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
