Summary:

The Ambulatory Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse provides support and direction to the clinical support staff and providers related to clinical practice improvements, clinical competency and continuous quality improvement. The QA Nurse partners with operational and clinical leaders to develop and ensure continued quality and accreditation-focused environments and practices, focusing on delivery of safe patient care.

The QA Nurse works with other quality and clinical support staff to ensure standardized processes are maintained that promote health prevention measures and care gap closure, improving the health outcomes of our patients. The QA nurse works to coordinate performance improvement activities to align with relevant quality initiatives and system identified priorities.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) License, NY required
EXEPRIENCE
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Work experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Organizational and time and task management skills
  • The ability to work with individual’s at all organizational levels; physicians, clinical support staff, patients, and aligned community partners
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner with physicians, administrators, patients, and associates
  • Ability to function effectively within a team
  • Ability to create an atmosphere which encourages motivation, innovation, and high performance
  • Self-directed with a positive attitude
  • Ability to promote and maintain quality care through analysis
