Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a long-term locum tenens opportunity in Rome, New York.

Beginning September 30, 2026, this assignment offers the opportunity to establish a consistent monthly schedule within a community Emergency Department. The need is anticipated to continue for 6+ months, with approximately 10 shifts per month across day and swing coverage.

The current need is approximately 10 shifts per month, creating a meaningful recurring schedule without requiring a traditional full-time commitment.

Emergency Medicine Practice

You'll join an established physician + APP Emergency Medicine model caring for a broad community ED population.

The department sees approximately 33,800 patients annually, with a client-reported pace of approximately one patient per hour. There are no scribe services, so candidates should be comfortable managing their own documentation within Electronic-T.

This opportunity is best suited for an APP who can step confidently into an Emergency Medicine environment and work collaboratively alongside physicians, nursing staff, and the broader clinical team.

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• 1–3 years of Emergency Medicine experience
• NCCPA or applicable NP board certification
• Required Infection Control certification
• Appropriate New York professional license
• Ability to obtain hospital privileges

Licensure & Credentialing

Candidates who are already licensed in New York will be prioritized.

The credentialing process cannot begin while New York licensure is pending, making license-in-hand particularly important for this opportunity.
