Calspan’s Automotive Crash Facility, located in Buffalo, NY, is recognized worldwide for its leadership in vehicle safety testing. With a mission to advance the science of crash testing, we’re seeking a skilled Sr. Barrier Technician to support and improve our state‑of‑the‑art test systems.

Responsibilities- Support test setup, preparation and execution of full‑scale outdoor crash tests in accordance with ASTM 2656, ASTM 3016, and MASH standards.
- Assist with test execution, including operation of barrier drive systems and coordination with the Barrier test team.
- Perform post‑test activities including cleanup, site reset, and preparation for subsequent testing.
- Maintain, inspect, and repair barrier infrastructure, test equipment, and support systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and data collection problems with test equipment and measurement devices.
- Support setup of high‑speed cameras as required for specific tests.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure safe operation of equipment and test environments.
- 5+ years in a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.
- Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems.
- Electrical and electronic principles.
- Reading and understanding engineering plans and specifications, and reading drawings.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
