Moog Defense Group is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician to join the team in East Aurora. The Quality Technician should be self-motivated and can follow through on assignments with limited supervision. Must have the ability to work on several assignments and/or programs concurrently.
To be considered for the Quality Assurance Technician role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
* High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of manufacturing experience in a quality role including writing and tracking nonconformances, corrective actions and supporting nonconformance investigations and CAPA processes or an Associate's degree and 0-3 years of manufacturing experience
* Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
* Experience working in controlled manufacturing environments is a plus.
* Candidates local to WNY area preferred. Relocation will not be provided for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Background in machining, inspection, assembly, test
* Experience in reading engineering drawings or equivalent, using precision measuring equipment such as air gauges, Vici laser mic systems, super micrometers, microscopes, and CMM equipment, and working with various quality standards
* Familiar with AS9100 specifications and quality documentation best practices.
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product compliance and reliability.
* Experience supporting process validation, tooling trials, coefficient/gauge capability studies, SPC, and participation in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen).
As a Quality Assurance Technician you will be responsible for the following:
* Under the direction of a Sr. Quality Technician or a Quality Engineer, you will perform production inspection plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing, assembly & test, engineering procedures and first article inspection plans. This may include the performance of physical inspections, process capability studies, gauge capability studies, and/or implementation of statistical process control plans.
* Conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes and precision gauges.
* Verify and maintain compliance with contractual changes related to quality.
* Perform routine technical tasks such as product/process improvement studies, development of new systems and procedures, and support of process validation efforts and tooling trials.
* Prepare and perform customer source inspections.
* Apply basic problem-solving techniques to assist in the resolution of fabrication and product related problems, support nonconformance investigations, and execute corrective actions.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) to ensure safe, organized, and precision-driven work spaces
* Frequent personal contact with customers and teams require critical interpersonal skills, writing skills, tact, and persuasiveness.

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $28.00-$37.00 Hourly
