Calspan's Automotive Crash Facility, located in Buffalo, NY, is recognized worldwide for its leadership in vehicle safety testing. With a mission to advance the science of crash testing, we're seeking a skilled Sr. Barrier Technician to support and improve our state-of-the-art test systems.

Responsibilities

* Support test setup, preparation and execution of full-scale outdoor crash tests in accordance with

ASTM 2656, ASTM 3016, and MASH standards

* Assist with test execution, including operation of barrier drive systems and coordination with Barrier

test team

* Perform post-test activities including cleanup, site reset, and preparation for subsequent testing

* Maintain, inspect, and repair barrier infrastructure, test equipment, and support systems to ensure

operational readiness

* Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and data collection problems with test equipment and

measurement devices.

* Support setup of high-speed cameras as required for specific test

* Follow all safety protocols and ensure safe operation of equipment and test environments

Qualifications

Preferred

Education / Experience:

* 5+ years in related discipline or;

* A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

* Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems

* Electrical and electronic principles

* Read and understand engineering plans and specifications

* Read drawings and troubleshoot

* Microsoft Office
