Quality Engineering
Conduct structural, acoustical, and fire testing of building products and assemblies according to ASTM, UL, NFPA, and other national and international standards. Support the laboratory’s operations through test specimen construction, test execution, data analysis, data reporting, and customer interaction. This position is not eligible for hybrid work.
MajorJob Responsibilities
- Assist in the construction and demolition of test wall and floor‑ceiling assemblies.
- Assist in accurately recording construction details and test data in MS Excel.
- Assist the Test Engineer in working with clients to coordinate their test projects, including determining all requirements and establishing time frames.
- Assist the Test Engineer in performing product tests, strictly following national and international standards.
- Monitor and record man hours and material costs involved in test projects.
- Learn, understand, and support operation of the Steiner tunnel, and vertical and horizontal furnace.
- Perform additional duties as required, including paid overtime/extended hours during busy periods.
- Minimum two years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated hands‑on general construction skills including the use of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment related to standard construction practices.
- Ability to consistently lift 50–60 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and/or work from heights more than 4 ft. off the ground.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and client‑focused service.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Adherence to internal quality management system requirements.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Construction Technology, Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
- Experience with framing carpentry, hanging drywall, and/or flooring installation.
