Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is a professional consulting firm specializing in construction inspection and compliance services for public infrastructure projects. Our core services include on-site inspection of roadway, bridge, and utility construction to ensure adherence to engineering specifications, safety standards, and contract requirements. We support clients with daily reporting, materials testing coordination, schedule tracking, and quality assurance oversight. Additional services include project management, grants management for federally funded infrastructure and disaster recovery programs.

About the Role:

The Chemical Inspector will inspect and evaluate industrial chemical products used by the Authority, including fuels, lubricants, greases, antifreeze, coolants, biofuels, cleaning agents, and other chemical materials. This role requires chemistry knowledge, laboratory testing experience, and familiarity with ASTM and applicable environmental requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.
  • Minimum of five years of experience inspecting and/or testing industrial chemical products.
  • Experience with fuels, lubricants, greases, antifreeze, engine coolant, biofuels, cleaning agents, or similar chemical products.
  • Familiarity with ASTM and other relevant physical and chemical test methods.
  • Familiarity with test procedures, test tolerances, laboratory test equipment, and inspection records.
  • Knowledge of New York Executive Order EO #134 regarding the environmental impact of cleaning materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reviewing Certificates of Analysis.
  • Experience evaluating laboratory test results and chemical product specifications.
  • Experience with sample collection, packaging, and shipment procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Review vendor Certificates of Analysis and laboratory test results.
  • Collect, package, and ship chemical samples when required.
  • Evaluate test results against ASTM criteria, Authority specifications, and inspection records.
  • Make acceptance or rejection recommendations based on test results and applicable requirements.
  • Use statistical techniques to determine testing frequency.
  • Review raw materials and manufacturing processes to verify that no unauthorized changes have occurred.
  • Notify the Authority of any changes to raw materials or manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare inspection documentation and support quality assurance decisions.
Skills:

Chemical inspection, ASTM testing, laboratory analysis, Certificate of Analysis review, ISO 17025 knowledge, sample collection, chemical compliance, statistical quality control, and technical reporting.
