Senior Research Analyst – Overview
This is a grant‑supported Senior Research Analyst (full‑time or part‑time) position with anticipated funding through 2030. The individual will be assigned to “Growing Up Healthy:
Pre/postnatal substance exposure, maternal distress, and adolescent risk behaviors:
Role of parent‑child interpersonal processes at macro and micro time scales” under the supervision of Craig Colder, PhD., Rina Eiden, PhD., and Meghan Leising, Ed.M., and will be an employee of The Research Foundation for SUNY.
This is a continuation of a multi‑method, longitudinal study of tobacco and cannabis‑exposed children and their mothers recruited in the first trimester of pregnancy. The current phase of the study will examine adolescents’ social and emotional growth, health experiences and health habits, the parent‑child relationship, the development of social skills and peer networks, and the ways that children’s environment influences these aspects of development.
Assessments will take place with families in early, middle and late adolescence.

Tracking participants and scheduling appointments. - Data Collection:
Conducting assessments with participating families. - Assessments:
Interviewing adolescents and their parents on sensitive topics, including substance use; collecting heart‑rate data and hair samples; and video‑recording family interactions. - Other administrative tasks: checking data, assisting with administrative tasks such as project mailings, photocopying, maintaining the project database, and coding observational assessments.
- Incumbent receives general direction for most activities and more direct supervision when experimental or unusual processes are involved; expected to consult with supervisor or Project Director as needed.
