Position Summary
A Research Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Surtees to study pathways of DNA metabolism mediated by the mismatch repair (MMR) complex Msh2-Msh
3. These pathways include post-replicative MMR, double-strand DNA break repair (DS ) and triplet repeat (TNR) dynamics using the model system Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The project involves the development of cutting‑edge approaches, with a combination of in vitro protein biochemistry and in vivo genetic analysis. The provides a collegial environment and has trained a diverse group of people over the years. We welcome scientists from all backgrounds and we mentor trainees at all levels.
Job Responsibilities
- Protein purification
- Protein cross‑linking for mass spectrometry
- Testing functional effect of mutations on MMR, 3’ NHTR and TNR pathways in vivo
- Lab maintenance activities, including ordering, meeting organization database maintenance

Minimum Qualifications- PhD or MD with background in molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry
- Experience with mass spectrometry and protein purification
- Normal wet lab work expectations and package unpacking
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00
