Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Pharmaceutical Science/ Research
Solstice Advanced Materials is expanding its footprint in pharma and life sciences through sustainable refrigerants, high‑purity materials, and high‑performance packaging. We are seeking a technical expert in inhaled applications to drive adoption of our sustainable Solstice Air medical propellant across global markets.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will lead customer adoption of new propellants for inhaled applications, including development of proof‑of‑concept metered dose inhaler (MDI) formulations and technical evaluation by industry standard testing. They will also lead a research program to develop and defend intellectual property protecting Solstice Advanced Materials’ investments. Working with customers, industry partners, third‑party labs, trade organizations, and regulatory bodies worldwide, the candidate will enable adoption of new products, identify growth opportunities in medical aerosol applications, initiate new product development projects through the stage‑gate process, and maintain regular communication with the global project team.
Travel up to 15% is required.
- Required Qualifications:
- PhD or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, materials science, or related biology.
- 5+ years of R&D experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, highly preferred in aerosol development.
- 3+ years of experience in inhalation science/research.
- Valid passport/visa permitting international travel.
- US person status (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected status under asylum or refugee status).

Qualifications and Skills:- Experience in aerosol development, pharmaceutical formulation, particle science, or related sciences.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical actives and excipients, particularly in respiratory therapies and drug development.
- Working knowledge of GMP.
- Strong customer‑facing skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Management/supervisory experience with lab personnel.
- Third‑party/contract/agency/consultant management experience.
- Understanding of IP portfolio management and IP landscape, with preferred experience filing IP.
- Technical presentation skills and ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to both technical and commercial audiences.
- Self‑driven, proactive program development, and execution.
- Collaborative team contribution across commercial, technical, clinical, and quality roles.
- Ability to motivate and influence others without direct authority.
- Creative troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
- Experience designing and writing experimental designs and SOPs.
- Willingness to relocate to the Buffalo, NY area.
The annual base range for this position is $127,805–$159,500. Salary considerations include scope, responsibilities, and the candidate’s experience, education, and skills.
