Postdoctoral Associate, Epidemiology and Environmental Health

Position Summary

Working with Dr. Zhongzheng (Jason) Niu, EEH Assistant Professor, the Postdoctoral Associate will conduct research on cardiometabolic health through a life course perspective, focusing on environmental risk factors and multi-omics integration.

• Examine environmental risk factors (air pollution, heatwave, endocrine‑disrupting chemicals) on biological aging.
• Integrate multi-omics data (epigenome, mitochondrial functions, metabolomics).
• Manage and analyze existing data using advanced statistical approaches in SAS, Stata, and/or R.
• Write manuscripts and present research results at scientific conferences.
• Participate in a clinical trial of postpartum hypertension and depression (optional).

• Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DDS, PharmD, etc.) in a public health discipline or related field.
• Authorized to work full‑time in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Advanced expertise in statistical programming languages such as SAS, Stata, and/or R.

• PhD in a quantitative public health field (e.g., epidemiology or biostatistics).
• Background in social sciences with strong quantitative skills (e.g., economics, political science, sociology).

• Full‑time, in‑person position at the University at Buffalo.
• Funding available for up to two years, with annual renewal review.
