The Huang Lab, led by Dr. Yolanda Huang, at the University at Buffalo, is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to study bacteriophages that infect gut Bacteroidales and investigate the mechanisms that enable prominent gut bacteria to colonize and survive in the gut environment.

The candidate will work on projects centered on bacteria-phage interactions using high-throughput and mechanistic approaches spanning functional genomics, genetics, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and bioinformatics.

Investigate interactions between bacteriophages and gut Bacteroidales, with an emphasis on understanding mechanisms that influence bacterial colonization and survival.

Apply functional genomic and genetic approaches to investigate bacterial and phage biology.

Use high-throughput experimental approaches to study bacteria-phage interactions and identify mechanisms underlying these biological systems.

Work with biochemical approaches and analytical chemistry techniques, including LC-MS, to investigate molecular mechanisms.

Integrate bioinformatics approaches with experimental research to analyze biological data and understand bacteria-phage systems.

• A PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a related field
