All About Assets ProtectionAssets Protection (AP) teams work to keep guests, team members, and the brand safe and secure, leading through crisis events, mitigating shortage risks, preventing and investigating theft and fraud to ensure product availability.
Responsibilities- Drive total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to guests.
- Manage and influence a safe and secure culture by driving physical security and safety processes; lead store response and emergency crisis situations and create plans for in‑store events.
- Educate store leaders and teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures.
- Identify shortage risks in key divisions and develop strategies to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales.
- Act as a key resource for company initiatives for AP team leaders in district/market.
- Lead investigative and verbal de‑escalation classroom trainings; facilitate other trainings as needed.
- Maintain all required training documentation.
- Lead internal investigations; complete internal interviews for store and nearby stores.
- Anticipate theft and shortage trends, develop proactive strategies, and determine operational shortage priorities.
- Manage external theft incidents and investigations.
- Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs (including early morning/overnight shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays).
- Build partnerships to identify market trends, competition strategies, and guest insights to drive business.
- Develop, schedule, and deploy resources based on safe and secure and theft trends.
- Lead organizational and operational change and establish accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
- Recruit, coach, and develop AP team leaders and team members to elevate their skills and expertise.
- Create, communicate, influence, and educate AP priorities (including shortage priorities) to team, peers, and store teams.
- Create and model a safety culture in store by recognizing safe behaviors, identifying hazards, and investigating injuries.
- Serve as first responder for in‑store incidents (e.g., security, weather).
- Provide a shopping experience that meets guest needs and demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- 4‑year degree or equivalent experience.
- Meet any state or local licensure or other legal requirements related to the position.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Ability to manage conflict, lead, and hold others accountable.
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
- Adaptability to current technology needs.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Access all areas of building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information.
- Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
- Handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and regular attendance.
