Account Manager
Position Summary
Ensures all sales orders are processed efficiently and accurately, meeting delivery deadlines. Provides support to a team of sales representatives and works with sales management, reps, and customer service to process customer orders and change orders. Verifies and reviews order accuracy, monitors account activity for the assigned group, tracks data, and creates reports regarding market conditions, sales results, and team earnings.
May be responsible for lead and order management activities for a specified area of the sales group, takes orders on self‑qualified leads, and prepares product/license quotes as needed for pre‑sales customers.
- Process sales orders efficiently and accurately.
- Support inside and outside sales representatives.
- Work with sales management, reps, and customer service to process orders and change orders.
- Verify and review order accuracy.
- Monitor overall account activity for assigned group.
- Track data and create reports on market conditions, sales results, and team earnings.
- Manage leads and orders for specified sales area.
- Take orders on self‑qualified leads when appropriate.
- Prepare product/license quotes for pre‑sales customers.
- Seasoned individual contributor with limited supervision for routine situations.
- Provides assistance and training to lower level employees.
- Analyzes complex problems requiring judgment.
- Executes minor adjustments to working methods.
- Explains practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with external stakeholders.
- Provides administrative or technical support at a senior level.
- Possesses substantial understanding of job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
- MAY act as a lead or mentor to more junior technical or administrative support personnel.
- Works on moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment and recommendations.
- Typically works independently within established procedures.
- Receives little instruction on daily work and determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
- May serve as an informal team leader.
- Two‑year college degree or equivalent experience and minimum three years in functional area, OR high‑school diploma and five years of functional experience, preferably at a senior level.
Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $43,800.00 - $70,100.00 per year. Pay within the range depends on location, job duties, responsibilities, experience, and performance. Additional rewards such as merit increases, annual bonus, sales incentives, and long‑term incentives may be available.
