JOB SUMMARYThe Account Executive is the primary client relationship manager for a designated book of business within our Group Benefits Division.
The Account Executive communicates with the client and manages the account from a retention standpoint for the successful annual renewal of the client’s insurance program. The Account Executive is the primary service manager for daily service and administration of the client account. They are responsible for making efficient and effective policy changes and respond to all normal customer requests including claims.
The Account Executive identifies potential healthcare business customers and is accountable for prospect from presale to implementation.
The Account Executive will be responsible for advising clients on Exchanges – both Public and Private.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAgency specific training will be provided.
- Serve as the primary client service point-of-contact to the insured
- Provide marketing & client support in the Group Employee Benefits arena
- Prepare and present new & renewal marketing
- Handle & resolve service issues: billing, eligibility, claims and customer service
- Must be knowledgeable about all federal and state legislative requirements for small groups in order to advise/consult on client issues, particularly health care reform
- Cross train as needed
- Adhere to the stated expectations of the E&O Plus Quality Management Program
As a Group Benefits Account Executive, major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by agency management; may handle some moderately complex tasks independently.
- Responds to requests in a timely manner
- Adhere to client service standards of the division and agency.
- Participate in training and seminar courses.
- Follow guidelines outlined in WD employee manual.
- Monitor legislation that pertains to employee benefits and regularly communicate updates with Benefits Division and clients
- 2 years’ experience in Group Employee Benefits and Group Health Plans, required
- Life & Health license (will be required within the first six months)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Effective presentation skills supported by excellent verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrate leadership ability and initiative.
- Ability to push past rejection to achieve results.
