Responsibilities
- Use product knowledge to engage in customized, in-person customer discussions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
- Drive sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
- Use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
- Maintain understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; routinely share with relevant stakeholders.
- Work with customers/accounts to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, network structure, customer needs, and to identify business opportunities.
- Routinely use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives and allocate resources effectively and ethically.
- Work with leaders to develop a business plan to achieve goals and sales objectives; understand formulary approvals and other opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
- Demonstrate administrative excellence for work hours, sales call data, customer objective responses, sample and expense reporting, and other administrative items.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years specialty sales experience (rare disease and injectable experience preferred; adult endocrinology preferred).
- Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments (start-up experience preferred).
- Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services.
- Proven strong current performance.
- Experience in new product launch environments preferred.
- Experience working with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
- Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions.
- Specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) experience.
- Ability to develop a business plan based on customer and patient needs.
- Ability to analyze data/metrics to track progress, diagnose issues, and identify opportunities.
- Experience establishing customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively.
- Ability to meet all credentialing requirements at all times.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Overnight travel required.
- Annual base salary: $190,000 (actual may vary; some roles may include car/car allowance and commissions/bonus eligibility).
