Officer, Security, Security Officer

The Officer is responsible for properly executing security duties on an assigned shift, adequately protecting the life and property of guests, team members, and Seneca Gaming Corporation property while maintaining guest service that meets the expectations of the Seneca Gaming Corporation. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the company’s policies, procedures, and internal control standards.

• Ensure the safety of guests and team members while on the premises.
• Maintain a complete working knowledge of the Security Ambassador position and perform duties normally assigned to that position when required.
• Assist guests, team members, and respond to critical situations such as medical emergencies and conflict resolution for guest disputes.
• Use outstanding verbal communication skills to resolve or diffuse difficult situations such as guest conflicts, disputes, and complaints.
• Conduct continual observation and patrol the property as directed by Security Management.
• Work designated posts and complete all post duties within company guidelines.
• Successfully complete CPR/First Aid Training and any additional training required by the Director of Security.
• Report violations, acts, or situations that are detrimental to the company to the Security Supervisor.
• Ensure the integrity of slot, sports book, and table game areas.
• Perform Class‑III related duties such as asset transfers, table fills, slot/jackpot escorts, and card/dice verification and destruction.
• Adhere to all compliance requirements, including regulatory agencies overseeing Class‑III gaming operations.
• Assist in internal or external investigations conducted by the company, SGA, or authorized local authorities.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding the internal functions of the Security Department and any other confidential information.
• Maintain current understanding of the company’s information security policies and comply with them at all times.
• Provide exceptional guest service and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
• Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
• Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
• Complete all required company training programs within nine (9) months of employment.
• Attend all necessary meetings.
• Remain flexible: duties, responsibilities, and expectations may change as needed.

• Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preference for candidates with experience in security, law enforcement, military, or hospitality.
• Ability to use approved software programs for security duties (e.g., report writing, dispatch) as well as Word and Excel.
• Good observation, writing, and spelling skills.
• Prior guest service experience preferred.
• Proof of customer service experience and ability to work in an intense, fast‑paced environment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
• Physical requirements:
  
  stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino; work nights, weekends, and holidays; meet vision and stamina requirements for a fast‑paced, noisy casino environment; work in a smoking‑permitted environment.

• Salary starting rate: $16.16 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
• Salary may vary based on minimum qualifications; some requirements may be waived if no fully qualified candidates are available.
• Hours are determined by a 24‑hour schedule.
