Facilities Assistant

Position Summary: The Facilities Assistant supports the daily maintenance and operation of various clinic and administrative spaces s role helps ensure the environment is safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for patients and staff by performing general maintenance, minor repairs, and facility-related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic carpentry and general handyman duties within a medical office setting
• Paint, assemble, install, and move office and clinic furniture and equipment
• Assist with small building repairs and routine maintenance
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks (no certification required)
• Safely use basic hand tools and power tools
• Assist with snow removal and exterior maintenance as necessary
• Monitor clinic spaces and identify facility issues that may impact patient care or staff operations
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve building or clinic-related issues as they arise
• Work around patients and staff in a professional, respectful, and discreet manner

• Perform basic general repair tasks
• Perform other duties related to facilities and maintenance as requested

Qualifications

• Basic carpentry and handyman skills
• Experience with painting, furniture assembly, and light installation work
• Basic plumbing and electrical repair skills
• Ability to safely operate common power tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow safety guidelines
• Ability to lift and move furniture and equipment as needed

Work Environment:

• Requires moderate physical effort including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, crouching, squatting, or using a ladder (8-10 feet)
• Some lifting (usually not in excess of 25-50 pounds)

• Requires driving
