Job Overview
Full‑time Shop Technician (Buffalo, NY) for the largest equipment dealer in North America. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment, diagnosing and repairing customer equipment, completing repair jobs efficiently, providing exceptional customer service, managing workloads independently, completing required paperwork, and other duties as assigned.

- Valid NYS driver's license.
- Two years of forklift repair experience, preferably in Military, Guard, or Reserve with MOS/NEC codes 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M, or CM.
- Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Own tools.
- Computer proficiency with HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software, and Yale-Hyster contact management system.
- Intermediate language skills: ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Basic mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers; multiply and divide using units of American money, weight, volume and distance.
- Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; handle problems involving several concrete variables.
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands; frequently talk/hear; occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- No special vision requirements.
- Regularly lift up to 10 lbs; frequently lift 11‑25 lbs; occasionally lift 26‑100+ lbs.
- Frequent bending and working from a prone position (lying down while working underneath equipment) required.
- Work near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather; occasionally wet/humid conditions (non‑weather), extreme cold and heat (non‑weather), risk of electrical shock, vibration.
Base pay: $22.00 to $33.00 per hour. Compensation determined by location, skillset, education and experience.
