Maintenance B
Maintenance B is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of facility machinery, equipment, and material handling systems. Working under the supervision of experienced maintenance personnel, this position supports mechanical and electrical maintenance activities while developing technical skills through on-the-job training and formal training opportunities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The Maintenance B schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, alternate shifts, and emergency call-in or call-back work as required.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and material handling systems using hoists, hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical failures and electrical system issues to identify and resolve equipment problems.
- Support the repair, rebuilding, maintenance, and alignment of motors, drive systems, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tasks on facility equipment.
- Read and follow work orders, maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to supervisors and team members.
- Work collaboratively with operations personnel to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Participate in training programs to develop mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and tools.
- Perform all work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Commitment to working safely and following all safety procedures.
- Experience assisting with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems preferred.
- Understanding of industrial mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, drive systems, bearings, and power transmission equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders, platforms, lifts, and fall protection equipment.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, bend, stoop, climb, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot, cold, humid, dusty, and noisy environments.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, electrical equipment, vibration, dust, and varying temperatures.
