Responsibilities
- Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Respond to basic warranty calls.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
- Load system‑level controller software.
- Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
- Keep management, contractor, or customer informed of job progress and issues.
- Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation.
- Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation.
- Communicate with the contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Follow all safety standards, attend required safety training, and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- HVAC license or a 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 2 years of related working experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and external contacts ethically and professionally.
- Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience required and ability to program HVAC‑related software.
Hourly rate: $26.00–$36.00, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
