About The Role
Are you a mechanically inclined professional who thrives in a dynamic environment? Trailers Plus is seeking a dedicated Service Repair Technician (Parts & Service Technician) to drive profitability in our Parts and Service department while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional facility. In this role, you will be the backbone of our hands‑on operations—handling everything from trailer servicing, parts installations, inventory control to inspections and helping customers find the right parts for their needs.
Location: Tonawanda, New York
Job Type: Full-time, Hourly $20-$22 DOE
What You’ll Do (Essential Duties)- Service & Repairs:
Perform parts and accessories installations, trailer servicing, warranty work, and preventative maintenance on company equipment. - Inspections:
Complete thorough Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and Post‑Labor Inspections (PLIs) to ensure top‑tier quality and safety. - Customer & Sales Support:
Use a consultative approach to help customers find the right parts/services. Assist the management team with trailer sales and local market lead generation as needed. - Inventory & Operations:
Receive deliveries (trailers, parts, supplies), verify invoices, process paperwork, and maintain strict key control policies. - Facility Upkeep:
Keep the store facilities and trailers clean, safe, secured, and professionally presented. - Equipment Operation:
Safely operate power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and tractors (company training/certification provided).
- Experience:
6 months to 1 year of related mechanical, repair, or service experience. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Skills:
Strong mechanical ability, outstanding customer service, troubleshooting skills, and top‑notch time management. - Technical/Math:
Ability to read safety rules and instructions, write routine reports, and apply basic math/algebra concepts for measurements. - Certifications/Licensing:
Ability to obtain a company forklift/welding certification. Where required by state law, you must be able to obtain and maintain a valid sales license. - Conduct: A strong commitment to professional, safe, and ethical conduct without exception.
- Physical Agility:
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach, balance, climb ladders, and routinely lift between 50–75 lbs. - Environment:
Comfortable working in varying outdoor weather conditions (wet/humid/cold/hot) and working around moving mechanical parts.
