Maintenance Personnel - KeyBank Center

Performs a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled tasks which include: painting, drywall installation and finishing, basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, machine and equipment repair, building hardware repair and all other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to trouble shoot and initiate repairs.
• Works with the Director of Facilities to develop the best approach to maintain and repair all aspects of the physical plant both interior and exterior.
• May assist in various project work as necessary.
• Must be able to utilize accumulated knowledge and analytical skills on occasion to solve unique problems, which may occur.
• Be responsible and punctual.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Keep supervisor informed as necessary.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all information and issues worked with.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
• Ability to work safely and promote and create a safe work environment.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Walk up and down stairs.
• Walk/stand for long periods.
• Must be able to work on high ladders and personnel lifts.
• A high school or equivalent trade school diploma.
• 2 to 5 years of general building maintenance, or building trades experience preferred.
• A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Must possess a high degree of interpersonal competence.
• Practice good judgment, discretion and confidentiality when dealing with work issues.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional in all situations.
• Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous and professional manner with all levels within the organization and outside the organization.
• Basic courtesy, diplomatic abilities, and a pleasant demeanor are critical to this position.
• Must be able to calculate figures.
• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret written material and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

This position will be scheduled during the day; however, evening hours will be required on a per event basis. It is considered essential, with reporting in inclement weather and possibility of additional hours during inclement weather.

This role pays between $18.50 - $22.00 an hour.

Wages will be determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set and internal equity.
