NDT Tech Assistant

Position Purpose

The primary role of the Assistant is to learn all aspects of inspection services from the Technician, including the use, supply, and maintenance of materials and tools, as well as cleaning work areas and equipment. The Assistant will follow established methods and procedures to determine product compliance and learn various NDT methods and techniques.

• Entry-Level position with no prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Assist and shadow a Level 2 Technician in various inspection methods across multiple industries.
• Receive a $500 sign‑on bonus.
• Assist Technician in project execution and daily tasks as assigned.
• Help organize and report service activities.
• Prepare, set‑up, and complete all required paperwork for clients and company mandates.
• Establish boundaries and supervise work areas to prevent unauthorized access.

Pay range: USD $18–$22 per hour.

• Assist Technician with project execution and daily tasks.
• Organize and report service activities.
• Complete all necessary paperwork per client and company requirements.
• Set up work area boundaries and enforce security measures.
• Adhere to safe work practices and procedures at all times.
• Maintain and replenish required supplies; keep work areas clean.
• Observe test procedures and product compliance to learn industry specifications.
• Learn procedures for NDT methods and certification processes.
• Document NDT testing accurately and thoroughly.
• Communicate professionally and promote positive customer service.
• Use required PPE and follow company safety policies.
• Perform additional job‑related tasks as assigned by management.

• Ability to read technical documents (preferred).
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of inspection technology (preferred).

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry‑level position; minimum or no experience required.
• Experience in the NDT industry highly desirable.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

• Meet company minimums to operate a company vehicle and qualify for coverage under the company insurance program.

• Work both inside and outside in extreme temperatures, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• Use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
• Risk of walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Noise levels frequently loud on project sites.
• Overtime required during the week and weekends.
• Travel up to 25% of the time nationwide.
