The RoleThe Journeyman Electrician is a mid‑level field position for someone with solid hands‑on experience and the drive to keep growing. You’ll work as part of a crew under the direction of a Foreman or Sub‑Foreman on commercial and industrial job sites across WNY, executing installations, reading blueprints, and contributing to project quality and productivity every day. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their craft and is ready to take on more overtime.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Install conduit systems (EMT, rigid, PVC), MC cable, wire, panels, devices, and equipment per NEC and project specifications
- Pull and terminate wire and cable including THHN, MC cable, and low voltage as directed
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders with minimal supervision
- Use hand tools, power tools, and conduit benders safely and correctly
- Troubleshoot electrical issues in the field and communicate findings to the Foreman
- Support apprentices on proper installation techniques and safety practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
- 2–3 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical field experience
- Working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and single‑line diagrams
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, conduit benders, and test equipment
- NY State Journeyman Electrician License preferred; active apprenticeship considered
- OSHA 10 required within 90 days of hire; OSHA 30 a plus
