Position Overview
Johnson Barrow is looking for an Associate HVAC Service Technician to support our commercial HVAC service team on a project in Buffalo, NY. This is an entry-level position that is ideal for someone who is dependable, organized, mechanically inclined, and interested in learning about the commercial HVAC industry.
The Associate HVAC Service Technician will primarily support our field technicians by helping manage parts and materials, keeping job trailers and equipment organized, documenting jobsite conditions, and making sure technicians have what they need to complete their work.
This is a hands-on role with an opportunity to learn the commercial HVAC trade. No previous HVAC experience is required. The right candidate will be reliable, willing to learn, comfortable working in the field, and take pride in keeping things organized and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Parts & Materials Support
- Pick up and deliver HVAC parts, tools, and materials to jobsites as needed.
- Serve as a parts runner for service technicians and project teams.
- Receive parts and materials delivered to the shop, warehouse, or jobsite.
- Verify deliveries against packing slips and identify missing or damaged items.
- Organize parts and materials so they are easy to locate when needed.
- Help maintain accurate inventory of commonly used service parts and materials.
- Track parts that are being used, returned, or need to be reordered.
- Keep service vehicles, storage areas, and jobsite materials organized.
- Assist HVAC technicians with general jobsite support.
- Take clear pictures of HVAC equipment, components, and jobsite conditions when requested.
- Document equipment conditions and issues through photographs for use by technicians, project managers, and customers.
- Help move tools, parts, and materials around jobsites.
- Communicate with technicians regarding parts, deliveries, and other support needs.
- Keep job trailers clean, organized, and stocked.
- Maintain general cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Help ensure basic supplies and equipment are available when needed.
- Report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment to the appropriate team member.
- Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Be dependable and arrive at jobsites prepared and on time.
- Keep supervisors and technicians informed about parts, materials, deliveries, and other issues.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and promptly.
- Be willing to learn about commercial HVAC equipment, service practices, tools, and jobsite operations.
- Perform other general support duties as needed.

Physical & Work Environment
This is primarily a field-based position. The Associate HVAC Service Technician will spend time at commercial and industrial jobsites, warehouses, and other customer locations.
The position requires the ability to:
