Job Summary

All-State Fire & Security is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Inspector to join our team in Buffalo , NY
. This role performs inspections, testing, and documentation for both fire alarm systems and fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential facilities.

Target Pay
Range is $28-32
/hr, depending on experience.

What You'll Do
  • Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance activities on fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local code requirements.
  • Ensure customers receive the highest level of service and satisfaction.
  • Complete inspections accurately and efficiently while coordinating with scheduling and inspection teams.
  • Test fire alarm system components including batteries, initiating devices, notification appliances, and control panels.
  • Identify and document deficiencies in fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm system issues and assist in determining required repairs.
  • Review inspection findings with customers and explain recommendations.
  • Utilize mobile devices, inspection software, and online scheduling tools to manage daily assignments and complete field reports.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, timesheets, safety documentation, and required paperwork.
  • Travel daily between customer sites and perform occasional overnight travel with advance notice.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, testing equipment, and supplies in good working order.
  • Stay current on NFPA codes, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Participate in company training programs and manufacturer-specific training.
  • Obtain and maintain NICET certifications and OSHA safety training.
  • Support additional inspection-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum 3 years of fire alarm and/or fire sprinkler inspection experience.
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and field service software.
  • Ability to travel between customer locations daily.
Preferred
  • NICET Level I or higher in Fire Alarm Systems and/or Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems.
  • Experience inspecting commercial fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and related life safety equipment.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
  • Experience troubleshooting fire alarm control panels and associated field devices.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate active job sites throughout the day.
  • Ability to work safely on ladders and at heights.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
