We are seeking a Training Specialist with lived experience and/or deep familiarity with survivor perspectives, especially regarding firearm surrender in domestic violence or similar contexts. This individual will play a critical role in informing policy implementation through client interviews, developing training courses, and participating in stakeholder and strategy meetings.
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Client Interview & Insight Gathering:
Conduct interviews with clients, focusing on firearm surrender experiences. Extract themes and trends that reflect lived experiences and survivor perspectives to inform broader implementation efforts. - Inform Implementation Efforts:
Participate in strategic implementation meetings and bring forward the voice and lived experience of survivors, especially as it pertains to firearm surrender processes and safety considerations. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Attend and actively contribute to all Erie County Stakeholder Team meetings
, ensuring consistent representation of survivor-informed perspectives in all planning and review processes. - Training Development & Facilitation:
Design and deliver targeted trainings for grant partners with a strong emphasis on survivor and lived experience insights. Trainings may address best practices, trauma-informed approaches, and culturally responsive engagement. - Methodology Development & Tracking:
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement a methodology for tracking client responses related to firearm surrender. Data gathered will be analyzed and used to inform semi-annual progress reports
. - Progress Reporting & Evaluation:
Provide insights and analysis from interviews and data tracking to support continuous evaluation and refinement of firearm surrender policies and practice
- HS Diploma required
- Knowledge of firearm surrender policies and survivor safety planning.
- Experience with qualitative research or participatory evaluation methods.
- Comfort with documentation and reporting for grant-funded projects
