DescriptionMinimum Starting Salary: *$62,353.20
* The salary indicated in this posting represents the minimum starting salary. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary reflects just one component of our total rewards package. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of Day Habilitation Services is responsible for managing, coordinating and supervising the service activities and staff of day habilitation services. The Coordinator of Habilitation Services implements person centered day services and supports to individuals that support their valued outcomes, needs and interests; and ensures quality, continuity and comprehensiveness. The Coordinator of Habilitation Services oversees curriculum development and creates opportunities that promote independence and meaningful opportunities and oversees intake and evaluation for services.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
The Coordinator of Community Habilitation Services is expected to consistently demonstrate the following core competencies in the delivery and oversight of services:
Leadership – Provides operational leadership for habilitation services while promoting quality programming and person-centered supports.
Staff Management – Supervises and develops staff through training, evaluation, coaching, and performance oversight.
Planning & Organizing – Coordinates curriculum, staffing, documentation, schedules, and intake processes effectively.
Enforcing Laws, Rules, & Regulations – Maintains compliance with OPWDD, Medicaid Waiver, billing, and agency standards.
Managing Projects or Programs – Oversees day habilitation programming, intake coordination, curriculum development, and community integration opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, plus three years full-time, paid direct service experience with the disabled population and two years of supervisory experience.
Desired: Master’s Degree in Human Services, plus five years paid direct service paid experience with the disabled population and three years of supervisory experience.
Valid New York State Driver’s License in good standing. Reliable form of transportation.
Must have or achieve certification within 3 months of hire in the following:
- First Aid Certification
- CPR Certification
- Defensive Driving
Applicants must be comfortable using computers and technology in a professional setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with the ability and willingness to learn and use organizational software systems and electronic documentation platforms.
