Job Summary: The Senior Robotics Engineer serves as an integral part of the team that develops the operating software utilized on Eastman’s automated multi-axis flexible fabric cutting machines. This person is responsible for developing the algorithms and code used to drive Eastman’s automated machines and assisting other software engineers with their tasks.

• Development / management of the operating software utilized on Eastman’s automated flexible fabric cutting machines.
• Lead high-level design and low-level coding for software engineering projects.
• Utilize the latest technologies / tools to maximize company’s industrial competitiveness.
• Ensure software development standards and processes are followed, working towards continuous improvement in this area.

• Creativity and attention to detail is expected.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work with other departments (e.g., Production, Tech Service, Sales).
• Works with management to develop the technical skills of other software engineers.

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / Math / Physics
• MS degree in a technical field preferred

• 7+ years of experience creating C++ / C# applications
• 7+ years of experience with Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs
• 3+ years of experience with machine or motion control
• Proven experience developing multi-threaded applications
• Proven experience integrating automated machine / robotics hardware and software
• Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience with OOA / OOD
• Strong familiarity with Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, and Regression Testing
• Strong analytical math background
• Strong demonstrated technical leadership skills
• Practical experience with SLDC / Agile / Source Code Management
• Excellent written and verbal communication, positive attitude, and people skills are a must
• Experience with WPF and .NET development
• Experience using AI and Python for analytics / algorithm development
• Experience developing embedded software systems
• Development of CAD applications or similar programming experience
• Experience in Graphical User Interface (GUI / HMI) Programming
• Working knowledge of Atlassian SDLC products (i.e., Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
• Socket / Ethernet programming

Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, standard lifting up to 40 pounds, carrying, repetitive movements due primarily to computer work. Ability to operate and repair machines; prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
