Yard Jockey Driver

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, rotating Saturdays, plus holidays.

Base pay: $28.50 per hour.

Safely operates a tractor‑trailer or straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a Class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal requirements and company expectations for the fleet; maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard eDVIR; note all issues for corrective review/repair.
• Immediately report any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Operations Manager and Dispatch before attempting service.
• Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by Operations Manager.
• Work closely with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager and Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
• Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Operations Manager and Dispatch of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, services that cannot be completed, or problems that arise on the route.
• Communicate customer requests, issues, or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch.
• Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Position containers on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking‑in at the end of the route.

• Required Qualifications:
  • 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Successfully complete pre‑employment screening, including drug screen and physical.
