Position Summary
Join Parking and Transportation Services as a Transportation Operations Manager to play a vital role in supporting and maintaining the university's transportation services. This position provides technical and operational support to all University at Buffalo campuses by coordinating daily operations, monitoring service performance, customer service, and contributing to operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives to transport students, faculty and staff both on and off campus.
By working collaboratively with transportation staff and campus partners, you will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transit services via our Stampede buses and campus shuttles to create a positive experience and provide a crucial service to students, faculty, staff and the UB community.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
* Coordinating safe and reliable transportation operations, and service implementation
* Supporting system performance, planning, and continuous improvement
* Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient operations
* Providing customer service support to create positive experiences with clients
As Transportation Operations Manager, you will:
* Coordinate daily operational readiness of transportation services, routes, and assets
* Monitor service performance and identify operational disruptions or inefficiencies
* Assist with smooth implementation of route changes, service adjustments, and pilot programs
* Support transportation operations during special events, construction, or service detours
* Maintain and update transportation-related systems or operational tools
* Support system testing, upgrades, and operational documentation
* Compile non-financial operational data for service analysis and performance tracking
* Participate in planning discussions related to service levels and operational reliability
* Document operational workflows and standard operating procedures
* Deliver exceptional customer service support and outreach
* Collaborate with drivers, supervisors, and campus partners on operational coordination
* Plan and execute event transportation coordination with all relevant parties

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience
* Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to support decision-making and service improvements
* Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in dynamic, service-oriented environment
* Experience in a customer service setting
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and operational tracking
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in higher education, public transit, fleet operations, transportation software, logistics support or operational analytics
