Route Driver Job Description

The Route Driver is responsible for collecting donated goods from assigned donation bins by driving a company truck along scheduled routes. They ensure donations are picked up safely, efficiently, and delivered to designated locations.

Responsibilities
  • Drive a company truck to collect donated goods from assigned donation bins.
  • Ensure all donations are picked up safely and delivered to designated locations.
  • Adhere to route-based schedules and demonstrate punctuality.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and the public.
  • Organize and multitask by managing routes, logs, and collections efficiently.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and perform basic safety checks.
  • Load and unload materials efficiently.
Essential Skills
  • Safe driving and vehicle operation, particularly of a 16’–26’ straight truck.
  • Time management and reliability, ensuring punctuality on route-based schedules.
  • Physical strength and stamina, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors, team, and the public.
  • Experience driving box trucks (2+ years preferred).
  • Ability to use route software and collection logs.
  • Proficiency in conducting vehicle inspections and basic safety checks.

Pay and Benefits
