Hiring Pay Ranges: $54,808.00 - $80,490.00 per year. The hiring pay range for this position is commensurate with the level of relevant experience and education. This position may be eligible to receive an additional $2,080.00 per year if approved for the Spanish Communication Assistant Program.

Summary

The Banking Officer Trainee is responsible for developing and increasing knowledge and skills to originate, process, and service commercial and consumer loans and deposits by participating in a rotational training program through multiple business lines including but not limited to underwriting, commercial lending, consumer lending, loan administration, loan quality review, credit risk review, and treasury management administration. It also involves developing knowledge and skills around all bank retail and treasury management products through a rotational training program including but not limited to shadowing and operating as:
Teller, Universal Banker, and Treasury Management Assistant.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Responsible for completing the Standardized Underwriting Training.
  • Establishes business relationships with prospective business and consumer customers, and cultivating these relationships to expand lending and depository opportunities.
  • Learn how to detect potential problems and apply techniques of problem loan administration.
  • Assist in daily management of a commercial loan portfolio, including credit quality, compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and management of past due loan status. The overall portfolio may include consumer credits as well.
  • Develop as a relationship manager for assigned customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and the resolution of service problems for all bank products.
  • Learn how to expand the customer base through networking and sales calls. Solicit the business of non-borrowing customers as well as loan customers. Maintain product knowledge to generate credit, deposit, and fee business.
  • Participate in community involvement activities to enhance the Bank’s visibility, image, and reputation.
  • Deliver the quality of service as defined by department standards.
  • Lead and supervise various branch and department initiatives, as assigned by management.
  • Learn all functions of retail banking, including teller and universal banker functions with emphasis on product knowledge, audit responsibilities, and a good working knowledge of retail policies and procedures.
