Surgical Program Management Director
Job description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands‑on Surgical Services Director to lead a two‑room operating suite in a small, community‑focused hospital. This is a working Director role, ideal for a leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable balancing administrative oversight with direct patient care.
Our facility supports a diverse case mix, including GI, general surgery, and orthopedic procedures–offering a well‑rounded and engaging clinical setting.
This is a contract position through InReach Healthcare, providing a unique opportunity to make an immediate and meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee patient care within the surgical department, ensuring all practices align with JCHC policies, professional standards, and best practices.
- Champion a culture of safety by developing and monitoring protocols that protect patients, staff, and equipment.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve departmental procedures to stay aligned with evolving healthcare standards.
- Train, mentor, and support staff—ensuring they are confident, equipped, and empowered to succeed in their roles.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and fully operational environment while promoting cost‑effective use of supplies and equipment.
- Ensure optimal staffing levels with qualified personnel to meet patient and operational needs at all times.
- Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external surgical providers to support seamless collaboration.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying opportunities to grow and enhance surgical services.
- Provide hands‑on patient care as needed to maintain efficiency and support the team.
- Collaborate with leaders across departments to strengthen communication, coordination, and strategic initiatives.
- Drive quality improvement by analyzing data related to volume, outcomes, productivity, and cost.
- Develop and manage the department’s annual budget, with ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
- Adhere to Universal Precautions and OSHA Category I requirements.
