Title: House Manager & Family Assistant

Compensation: $30-35/hour, based on experience

About Our Family:

We are a laid-back family moving from WY to Buford, GA to be closer to extended family. We have strong values, integrity, and enjoy community connections. Our family consists of four children, two older teens who are mostly out of the house and two teens who are in high school. We also have a shy Pitbull mix dog. Dad works remotely, managing a growing business and traveling frequently.

Mom is ready to transition into a new phase after many years of dedicated homemaking. We seek a household manager who can help us stay organized, manage our new home, and relieve the stress of ongoing projects as we settle into our new life. Our goal is to find someone who can take initiative, manage a variety of tasks, and offer valuable guidance as we navigate the transition to Georgia.

Ideally we are working with someone who knows the area very well and can be a trusted resource for us to lean on.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a proactive, experienced, and trustworthy individual who can manage both ongoing household responsibilities and specific tasks related to our upcoming move. You should be a self-starter with a high level of integrity and a good communicator who can navigate project management while offering guidance. A calm, laid-back personality is important, as is the ability to assess situations and take charge when needed.

You should have strong local insight and trusted community connections, bringing on the ground knowledge to our home project. Your experience will be key in helping us through this transition, and we appreciate someone who can offer solutions, manage vendors, and ensure our home is running smoothly.

Who You Are:
  • Household Management

    Experience:

    You have run your own household or have worked in a House Manager position before. You are a seasoned professional.
  • Professional Communication: You value direct communication and open dialog.
  • Strong Integrity: Alignment between your words, actions, and decisions.
  • Project Management Mindset: Able to wear multiple hats, solutions oriented, self-motivated to plan and execute independently, while providing essential home support.
Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, pantry, storage)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily, maintain overall neatness, ensure the home is prepped for cleaning services
  • Oversee household schedules and calendars
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
  • Supervise and coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., cleaners, landscapers)
  • Maintain indoor plants

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, etc.)
  • Run errands, including grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveries

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Plan and prep healthy meals for the family (3-4 nights per week)
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, and fold family laundry (primarily bedding and towels)
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, and restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Vehicle Management

  • Oversee vehicle registration, insurance, and maintenance schedules
  • Ensure vehicles are cleaned and organized
  • Track registration, insurance, and service schedules

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Coordinate and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers)
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
  • Manage routine upkeep across property
  • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors/guests in the family’s absence
  • Coordinate furniture deliveries and setup

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)
  • Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)
  • Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly
  • Organize special projects: seasonal decorations, gear rotation

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Assist with coordination of events, appointments, and guest prep
  • Help with the setup and management of the family’s new home, including vendor coordination and furniture delivery
  • Manage potential Airbnb logistics in the future - ensure check out instructions
