Assistant Teacher

• CDA, TCC or AS degree or higher in early childhood.
• Preferable at least one year’s experience in working with pre-school age children.
• Experienced driver with valid license who has access to a vehicle that can be used on the job.
• Able to pass a criminal records check.
• Knowledgeable of basic computer skills and predominant software such as Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, email, etc.

• Providing a safe, secure, nurturing learning environment.
• Assisting with the preparation of lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Making and documenting educational home visits and conferences.
• Recruiting, monitoring, and recording (in files and on computer) the progress of children.

Will implement all aspects of the program to meet or exceed Head Start Performance Standards and other requirements as set forth by the governing agency, and follow all guidelines set forth in the Procedures Manual and Operation Plan.

Must possess proficient verbal and written communication skills. Must attend training sessions as required by the agency.
