Mechanical Test Engineer
To design, build and perform complex mechanical test work in association with product and project engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Design complex mechanical tests as required by section manager.
- Build or supervise the building of complex mechanical test fixtures and equipment as required by product and project engineers.
- To instruct technicians to assist in the aforementioned work as required by section manager.
- Provide concise and logical reports of test work together with photographs if required.
- Provide analytical data using analyzers, computers and other equipment.
- Investigate manufacturing problems.
- Investigate field return problems.
- To aid in the selection and purchase of major equipment as required by the laboratory.
- To assist and aid manufacturing in the resolution of problems arising during day-to-day operation.
Qualifications:
Required:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Five years as a mechanical test engineer, 2 years of which should be associated with power tools or small electro mechanical mechanisms.
Preferred:
- Computer literate.
