Test Engineer
A large manufacturing organization in the Buford area is seeking a UL Lab Engineer to support product certification testing and regulatory approvals for electrical and electromechanical products. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Electrical or Mechanical Engineer interested in developing expertise in UL, CSA, and IEC standards while working in a hands‑on laboratory environment.
This role offers exposure to certification testing, project management, laboratory operations, and direct interaction with engineers, technicians, and certification agencies.
What You'll Do- Manage certification projects supporting UL and CSA approvals.
- Coordinate testing activities with laboratory technicians and supervisors.
- Conduct product evaluations and certification testing in accordance with applicable standards.
- Assist senior engineering staff with complex certification and compliance projects.
- Interpret and apply UL, CSA, and IEC requirements to new and existing products.
- Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and certification submissions.
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical product issues identified during testing.
- Participate in laboratory process improvements and continuous learning initiatives.
- Support customer and internal engineering teams throughout product certification efforts.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with UL, CSA, or IEC standards.
- Experience with product testing, compliance, validation, or certification activities.
- Knowledge of power tools, electromechanical systems, or consumer/industrial products.
- Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, or product development environment.
- Understanding of electrical circuits and troubleshooting methodologies.
