Transportation Project Engineer

Whatyou'll do
- Perform transportation design for roadway, intersection, and corridor improvement projects
- Prepare engineering calculations, roadway plans, quantity estimates, technical reports, and construction documents
- Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state transportation agencies, including FDOT, GDOT, and other applicable jurisdictions
- Develop technical specifications and bid documents for transportation projects
- Manage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery
- Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors
- Utilize Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, GEOPAK, and related design software to develop and refine transportation designs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering and roadway design
- Strong experience with Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, GEOPAK, and/or InRoads software applications
- Progressive experience in planning, design, and permitting of transportation improvement projects
- Strong understanding of roadway geometrics, transportation design standards, and construction plan development
- Experience preparing roadway plans, quantity calculations, technical reports, and construction documents
- Ability to write technical specifications and bid documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Client service-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Schedule:
On‑site:
Monday‑Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.;
Friday 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
