Lanier Islands is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Traffic Attendants for the annual Magical Nights of Lights drive-through holiday experience. This is a critical role in ensuring a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience for all our guests during our busiest operating nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traffic Control: Efficiently and safely direct vehicular traffic entering, exiting, and moving throughout the Magical Nights of Lights attraction.
  • Crowd Management: Maintain a calm and orderly flow of vehicles, especially during peak hours, and prevent congestion.
  • Guest Service: Provide clear, friendly, and helpful directions to guests regarding parking, entrance routes, and general event logistics.
  • Safety Enforcement: Monitor assigned areas for potential traffic hazards and communicate any safety concerns immediately to a supervisor.
  • Communication: Work collaboratively with other Traffic Attendants, Security, and Event Staff to manage overall traffic flow and respond to changing conditions.
  • Post-Event Duties: Ensure the area is clear of traffic and barricades are properly secured at the end of the shift.
Qualifications:
  • Availability: Must be consistently available to work the required schedule: 3-4 evenings a week including weekends from 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM from mid-November through the beginning of January.
  • Communication: Must be fluent and articulate in
    English to provide clear and precise directions to guests.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to
    stand for long periods of time (up to 7 hours) in various weather conditions (cold, rain, etc.).
  • Skills: Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Attributes: Previous experience in traffic control, security, or customer service is a plus, but not required. Must be friendly, professional, and patient when dealing with the public.
Working Conditions:
  • This position is primarily outdoors and requires working in cold weather during the late fall and winter season. Appropriate winter gear will be necessary.
