Job Purpose

The Encapsulation Machine Operator-Apprentice is responsible for processing blends into filled capsule form according to written instructions and compliance with cGMPs, SOP's and the work order under supervision.

Essential Duties

* Read work orders to determine production specifications or information for capsule creation.

* Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment related to the encapsulation process, including but not limited to; room and equipment cleanliness, machinery setup, product verification (before, during, and after product run).

* Verifies that proper documentation is completed accurately, timely, and properly filed.

* Weigh or measure materials, or products to ensure conformance to requirements set by the work order.

* Accountable for the quality of the product that is produced.

* Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the current process.

* Follow all SOP's and cGMP requirements.

* Participate in all applicable safety and food safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment as needed.

* Maintain a clean workspace by assisting in housekeeping duties to minimize food safety risks.

* Disassemble, wash, sanitize, and dry tooling and any encapsulation equipment.

* Clean and or wash encapsulation room

* Able to lift 50 pounds.

* Use material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks.

* Willing to work overtime as necessary.

* Other duties may be assigned.

Education:

* High school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Experience:

* Prioritization and time management skills

* Working quickly without compromising quality

* Mechanical skills and or encapsulation machinery experience

* In a food facility or facility that follows cGMP practices is preferred but not required.

Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

* Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.

* Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

* Knowledge and following of cGMP guidelines.

* Ability to communicate thoroughly with peers and management.

* Good mechanical skills
